ROCK STEADY 30th ANNIVERSERY

Well jet and I decided to go to NEWARK to see the LEGENDARY ROCK STEADY CREW. But it wasn't only them, also a couple of DJ's and BIZ MARKIE, MELLE MEL, MARLEY MARL, EPMD, CHUBB ROCK, NAUGHTY BY NATURE, DANA DANE, and KEITH MURRAY. In the beggining it was raining, and a couple of wack upcoming "stars" were performing but as soon as BIZ MARKIE hit the stage the sun came out. HE KILLED IT MAN AND HIS ENERGY WAS INCREDIBLE. FUCK, I was speechless they all killed the stage though.

DAMN the rain messed up what I had planned with Remiah (a friend of mine). So I chilled wit my main man JET, and we ended up going to S.O. It rained for at least the first half an hour after I cancelled so we waited in the bus stop for 15 minutes and thirty minutes later we were at S.O with the sun shining. JET and I heard about this spot a month ago so we decided to drop by. It's a cozy place and I thought it was dope. The dude who runs the place was a cool cat as well. We all had a conversation about everything but mostly about personal style and life. THIS PLACE IS MAD CHILL, but its not for everyone, only for a select few and ..shit..... I'm happy to say I'm one of those few.

Smells Like BACON

The wait is finally over as Dave's Quality Meat's website is done with construction. Viewing the site you can choose from many DQM fitteds or other apparel they sell as well as blog with the staff of DQM. If that doesn't do it for you peep the archive for the DQM greats and best collabo's like the 3ft hi package and converse's they did for RED. The fitted caps that Dave makes are genius and the DQM gear this fall is something to look forward to so if your not at the shop you need to be on there site!

SUPER VILLAIN

Although it wasn't listed as July's Drop Of The Month it is still one of the best sneakers that have released this month. Speaking of the man himself the MF Doom Nike Sb Dunk Hi has just been sold out of Alife, Supreme, Goods and other various skate shops around the US. With uuwwww's and aaaaaa's this dunk is one of the most hyped SB release since the Tiffany Diamonds in August 2005. With ostrich on the toe around, 3m outlining, Clear soles, And SPR VLN (Super Villain) lace locks some say it is worth calling great. After begging my local spot for an early pair and being told he couldn't because there were so many calls to the shop about these releasing (HYPE). Prices are shown to be between 150 and 200$, (which every sneakerhead knows isn't even close to retail and will be way more after that once re-sellers get there pairs). FlightClub along with various other websites by Niketalk mods has had there numerous amount of pairs for about a week and a half and ill let you see the prices now. With yesterday being the day Skate shops in NY get there pair I will grantee a camp out at my local spot Friday night. Unless you do it *PYS*

AQUA MAN VIII by BobbyFresh

With well anticipation for the slated best Air Jordan release of this year, the Air Jordan Aqua VIII, I present the non Jordan brand tee by BobbyFresh. After posting this on NikeTalk and reading reactions that were mostly positive but others not on the price. Selling for 40$ on his own site http://bobbyfresh.com/aqua.html. Modeled after the DC comic superhero AQUAMAN and clash of the famous Jordan aqua colorway it gives the tee a nice look. I wonder how many people I see with this shirt than the Jordan brand shirt that released earlier this month. The link is listed so if you want one I suggest you go fast, sounds to me like there aren't that many made to sell. If you don't know who AQUAMAN is read this wikipedia definition:

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Dre 1/3 of SBC. Im the artistic genius of the group. I started doing graffiti back when I was 12 but never picked up a can until 3 month ago, when it comes to the black book aspect of it I was pretty good. But other then that when it comes to picking up a can it's completely different. My first piece came out pretty good and from then on I've bin hooked like a crack addict. I want nothing more than to pick up a can and get up on a wall. But due to some snitches it makes it hard for any graffiti writer to get up. One day the SBC crew was just chillen on the local train tracks checking out the art and some African dude starts to chase us after telling us he was a cop and that "we must surrender", but we got away even after Baca lost his shoe.lol. People like that African dude can't appreciate the art form provided by all the GOOD writers. I stress the word GOOD because there are a lot of youngins out there that think they are nasty with the SHIT that they throw up. SO PLEASE STOP POLLUTING THE WALLS WITH YOUR TRASH YOU WANNABES.

While staying with my cousins for the weekend I discovered this wild youtube video of an angry nigga "shelling out his feelings and experiences". l0l. After watching, it was impossible not to see the others made just like it. Hilarious, hysterical and just plain too funny. I must warn you though it is very provocative with extreme profanity and shouldn't be heard from children. But for those grown enough to watch I advice you too. UNDFTD Jacking PackerShoes

So while browsing the web I came up on the new Undftd x Savage! tee. The tee hits all japan Undftd stores as well as Savage! tomorrow the 21st. My question is since when do they get off using the fame Larry Bird and Julius Erving choke image that PackerShoes is known for...??? Is it just me because I thought it was obvious! Patented or not, swagger jacking should be a crime. While in Teaneck, New Jersey just hours before writing this I met up with the owner of PackerShoes and he too was flabbergasted on the japan brand using the image. He then told me he gets 20 people a day since the images were linked of the tee asking him the deal with the comparison. He told me to write it up on Niketalk, so I did and now I'm linking it here to spread the love or no love for UNDFTD perhaps. After the long talk I purchased and "OG" Larry Bird and Julius Erving PackerShoes shirt in green. It is finally Friday thanks to work it came faster than i thought. I can not wait to hit up the NYC for the usual favorite shops and spots. On this trip though it is different, instead of with a crew I'm going to be traveling DOLO. Which is fine with me but it might get a little lonely. This might be my chance to speak up to the Recon girl, Kidrobot chick, or even the Reedspace babe. Regardless I hope Union still has those lace locks and the Alife girl notices me and sells me some krink. And if none are possible I hope my size 11's can with stand the walk to aNYthing before passing out. New kicks from Kidrobot drop in august so ill be looking forward to getting the scoop on a exact date. Wish me luck!!

Rock The Bells

Damn by far my dream line up has come TRUE. ROCK THE BELLS is a concert happening the 28th and 29th of this month at RANDELLS ISLAND in NY. Tickets are pretty much sold out but i got my hand on a pair and i can't wait to go. Headlining is WU TANG CLAN and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE, both really fucking incredible groups. Also performing CYPRESS HILL, ERYKAH BADU, RAKIM, MOS DEF, TALIB KWELI, MF DOOM, PHARAOHE MONCH, IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE, BOOT CAMP CLIK, DAVID BANNER, JEDI MIND TRICKS, THE ROOTS, EPMD, SAGE FRANCIS, and VERY SPECIAL GUEST ARTISTS: PUBLIC ENEMY PLUS SPECIAL SURPRISE PERFORMANCES. DAMN its going to be mega hype!!

San Fran Does It Again

After the release of the hufquake AF1 and dunk we all thought that would be the last of the quake crackle. Well I'm here to say you and I were both wrong! With the AM1 and 90 hufquake SF is being well respected thanks to Keith Hufngal of Huf. With the AM90 in white/blue/grey crackle and the AM1 in Black/lime green these two will be well anticipated. No word on release but if you stay tuned you might just see it under DOTM soon....

HYPE KILLS

Do you remember the days when you could walk into your nearest mom and pop shop to pick up your favorite Air Jordan? Well I don't but I sure as hell wish I was around too. On that note i will discuss the Hype these days in my century. It seems "80s Baby" fashion has taken over hood fab. From white and black tees to wallet chains and crazy parts in your head, the question I ask is, What started the flame. Some say pharrell and his partner Nigo and the blow up of RAPE, and others say the recent hype in sneaker collecting has brought out people to venture similar fields. I personally don't care which but I don know I don't like it. Camping out local skate shops for dunk sb's and knowing the only reason your camping out in the first place is because when people here SB it triggers GOTTA HAVE IT. For the ones who's been into the game it hurts to see this and for those who are hyping it i hope you know what your doing because there will something new to catch your eyes in a year. The hype will fall and when it does ill be the one walking into my mom and pop shops for that O' so favorite dunk sb or Air Jordan.

So I'm walking around Montclair yesterday and I see some cat thinking hes a sneakerhead talking about how Bape is way better than Reebok and Adidas. In my head I was like this guy is a clown, who would spend 200 dollars on some fake Nike's. Bape is really over rated to me along side BBC (billionaire boy club) and Ice cream. Man i go to union (shout out to UNION) last week i see a BBC tee in the clearance rack for 60 bucks and that was the clearance rack. Really over priced in my opinion and really not worth it. So if next time u see some kid walking around thinking he or she is the shit and got on BAPE scream dawg u were RAPED.

Open Wide

Something I can call original are the new samples of the GoodFoot double brim fitted. As pictures show the brim opens to what it seems to be a mouth of shark teeth. With eyes on the side you'll be sure to get hella props for being the first one with this on. My only question is why didn't New Era pick this idea up from GoodFoot??

Look-A-Like

While a quick meet and greet we discovered something that i thought i would never see, A look-a-like. After comparing tee's i have no clue on how this happened or what brand the guy is wearing. I would love to say one is better than the other but there is not much to compare from the two. ours is in grey and the other white. Thank god this didn't go into production.

Well let me introduce myself my name is Erick 1/3 of SBC. It's safe to say that i am the music expert in SBC. On that note I would like to give mention to some my favorite artists that maybe the radio don't acknowledge so much. So my first honoree is that guy who is on that now u see him and now u don't shit, tony starks, Ironman, better known as Ghostface Killah. This guy is fucking incredible and not to mention he blessed the store Clientele with that name from his Album Supreme Clientele. This guy is a beast and no one wants to battle him because he ends careers. I'm proud to say that i have met him in the Wu Tang concert that happened last year in Websters Hall in NYC. He is a cool dude he shook my hand while drinking some CRISTAL and said "Whats good little nigga". I'll never forget that day. Drop Of The Month (DOTM)-July

Now that you have seen the crush of the month it is only right i follow through with the next best thing, The sneaker release drop of the month. Along with the epic movie that just hit theaters earlier this month i introduce the Nike "transformer" Air Trainer III. The shoe is obviously modeled after the transformer film and there is still no word on release date. This has been a well waited cop for me personally and i will guarantee my spot on line for these. SBC x ATV

After it stalled on us the first run with a 14 hour charge we got it back in action. For $600 and getting our bike stolen (u don't wanna know), we picked this up and turned it into the SBC QUAD!! After multiple rides, wheelies, burnouts, and drifts it is only right to call ours!! Traveling under 110 cc's it is safe to say size doesn't matter.

On that note...shouts out to our main man NAS for copping it and letting SBC christen his QUAD! l0l

The Life and Rhymes of SBC

In light of it being our first couple of post ill link some things out to you readers. I'm a sneaker head, Which means throughout reading news about us I will be linking news about the outside world that we'll be involved with. Shows, parties, concerts and release dates that we'll be in line for. At least I will be on line for. To show Crazy Dave some love the first sneaker related post ill throw out is the collaboration from Vans and the Simpson's. Yes i said it the Simpson's, Bart, Lisa, Crusty, Homer, Marge, Maggie, Moe, kwik-e-mart Simpson's. There will be 14 different pairs each done by an artist who has contributed some way in street wear. Names include David Flores, Futura, Gary Panter, Geoff McFetridge, KAWS, Mr. Cartoon, Neckface, Sam Messer, Stash, Taka Hayashi, Todd James and Tony Munoz. The package was brought out for the new movie of The Simpson's coming to theaters July,27. Get them fast there's only 100 pairs of each shoe and release is tomorrow in NY only at Dave's Quality Meat.

To start out our blog i figure I'd let you all know who will be your writers of this blog are. I, Jet, 1/3 of SBC and ...well for now that's it. A brief summary on how we all got started and met was me moving to the 973, February of 2008. Meeting up with my Co-founders Eric & Andre (Baca and Dre) we bumped heads and with all love for visual arts, fashion, and photography. We aim to please street wear with originality and quality by our t-shirts, crew necks,fitted caps, and hooded sweaters. collaborations will soon come with popularity of course and stay tuned to see pics and peeps on the life of SBC and clothes of SPEAKERBOX!
